We just got back from our first family vacation with the skis. It was awesome!
We spent 5 days at a house/cabin on Smith mountain Lake in VA. This is the first time we just dropped them in the lake and left them there for the entire time. They performed flawlessly. The lake is large and beautiful. Lots of fingers and wide coves to play in. And miles and miles of water to explore. We hit some rainy days and some windy times, but it was great. Pulled wakeboards and tubes with both the GTX and GSX. (legal in VA even without mirrors). Everyone driving a PWC needs a boat license in VA, but that was easy enough for my wife and myself. We used the PWC school on the sticky.
My son and I also tried Flyboarding, which is a small wakeboard type of thing, with nozzles powered by a jetski's thrust. This one was a turbo Honda ski. 170 HP I think he said. It was a blast. My son was a natural at it. I was not nearly that good, but did do some 30+ second flights. We flew at Wet Connections. http://www.wetconnection.com/ It is new to them so they have a killer starter demo price of $50 for about 15 minutes of flying. Does not sound like much time, but it wore me out! I would love one in my toy box, but they run about $8,000 :{

We did run up against some really rough water in the main channel of the lake. It beat the tar out of whoever was riding the GSX. We had two on the GSX and three on the GTX. The GTX was MUCH smoother. The GSX was a tough ride since it kept popping out of the water and cavitating. We pounded them for a few 45 minute runs in that chop and the skis never complained. (we did though!) I am now in the market for another GTX project ski for the winter. Love the GSX, but for the rougher water with the kids, the GTX is a much better fit.
Thanks again to all on the forum that helped me get these ready for this Seadoo Summer!
