Hi all,
Planning a trip up te Yarra river soon into central Melbourne. is there anything I can do to my intake grate to help avoid blockages from debris etc? being in the middle of the CBD alot of storm water runoff and everything that comes with it ends up in the river.

Any thoughts are welcomed!

There is nothing you could really do unfortunately.....any attempts to try to put some screen or anything else would really affect performance and or really bad cavitation. Nature of the beast when dealing with jet boats!!

The river we'd be going up is limited to 5 anyway so it's more of a scenic thing than wanting to get up to plane etc.

You're more likely to get debris in shallow water on start up. Once going the hull tends to push debris away from the intake. My thoughts are the twin models will suffer more than the singles due to the off centre placement if the intakes. Have fun
Cheers

Well went out today and had a great day. Boat felt a little underpowered coming back into the boat ramp. Got it home no worries. Checked my intake grate and foundation small amount of straw type stuff around the shaft. So got rid of that,

Started my flushing procedure, boat started and idled fine, as soon as I put a rev in engine dies, try restart and three knock knock knocks. Dunno what's going on but will take it back to the dealer in the next suburb tomorrow to sus it out for me,

Will have some pics from my day out up soon

Ok so boat is fine. Apparently my flush sequence was wrong and I fouled a plug. All sorted nw thanks to top gear and will be back on the water next weekend.

Some happy snaps from our trip to come
