Audible alarm

I took my 95 speedster out today and noticed it was taking on some water in the bilge area and my audio alarm was sounding. I then shut her down and turned on the bilge pump to get some of the water out and then restarted it and the alarm did not turn on. I guess my question is, is there an audio alarm in the bilge area to sound when water reaches a certain height?

Is it possible that the bilge pump outlet is too close to the waterline and the water could be entering through there? It sure seems the outlet sits mighty close or even below the water line? Is there a way I can put some sort of a one way valve inline so that the water can't enter the bilge?

There is no audible water level alarm that I'm aware of.

As for bilge pump outlet height, a check valve can put stress on the pump and lead to premature failure. The proper method is for the hose to run from the pump up to the highest point above it, then back down to the through-hull fitting. The idea is that the peak of the hose stays above the water line, even though the fitting may not.

Check all your clamps on your cooling loop. A loose hose there can cause an overheat alarm and fill the bilge pretty quickly.

Well looks like I need to put a loop in tgere then on the discharge hose. When I checked it today it just laid right there in the bilge flat on the bottom.... so if I just put a loop in there, like a p-trap on a sink, and make the loop a pretty big one I should be ok.
