Bah, was late to an auction this morning and missed a Sporster in great shape go for 1000 bucks. Not sure of the year but it had the Merc engine. People didn't want to bid because "it was missing the out drive." I asked the guy who bought it if I could take a look at it. Everything was there including the pump, I think people were looking for a prop. Super clean boat, and while I have no idea how it is mechanically I am thinking that guy scored a great deal.

Classic

You would think seeing mercury on it.

Thing is those engine are $$$ to fix. Just ask Dr Honda.
For that much he may be ahead but it depends on his mechanical skills.

Its easily worth that if it is in good shape and has a trailer. Part it out if it doesnt run.
