I looked at two boats today and wanted to get ideas if they are good prices.

A brand new 2011 Speedster 150 HO 255HP no other options for $21,000 out the door (tax, tags, freight set up included)

An 08 Challenger 180 215HP with factory cover, 22 hours for $16,649+ tax and tags (no extras included)

Thanks

Bob

I bought 2011 challenger 180SE for 17K (18 hrs) from Private party (hopefully this might help you to negotiate)

Also, one of the board member just bought new Speedster for much cheaper... I think 16850+ TAX (also includes 3 yrs extended warranty)

Spare a thought for anyone living outside north America. A challenger 180 SE is close to 47k new down under!

wow....would buying it in Canada or the U.S and then having someone ship it to you be allot cheaper?? Just curious...

I would never pay $21K for a 150 speedster....look around and get a nice challenger 180 SE for less than that!! I search Craigslist every once and awhile by using searchtempest.com only thing is you may have to do a little bit of travel but well worth it if you can sale a few thousand dollars.

You can save a little bit however there are still a lot of import charges etc as Australia has it's own boat manufacturing industry. You will come out a bit better off however once it's here you will have no backup or support from brp.

Remember that speedster has the biggest HP in this class, 255hp.. So I'm not sure how to negotiate, I did pay $16,758 for mine, which I think I should have gotten it $1000 cheaper, but oh we'll..

I think I am going to wait a year, rebuilding the jet pump on mine right now. I will see how she runs then decide.
