Just brought this baby home Saturday and was amazed on how good the craft looks, it was covered in a garage but usually you still get all the scratches etc.

Picked it up for 2G, an '03 with only 32hrs and will get a total overhaul within the next couple of months. Already cleaned (didn't need much!) the gel coat, seat is like new also. My son when he saw it backing into the garage "Holy cow Dad, you stole it!" ...completed an already awesome day.

Well I got some work ahead of me but I like this stuff!

The pics truly don't do it justice.

I'm with you brother. Some people rather throw in the towel, than to take a gander at fix'n it...(no offense to anyone).
Just saw a 2000gtx for 350buks on craigslist. I was a day late(). Also, picked up 96" Sportster 1500buks, cut plug wires, cleaned terminals, and WHAM..., turned around sold for $2500, just for new owner to offer back to me for $1500. So bought again, then redumped it again for another $2500...heck ya.
So amongst this deal'n, scored on a 98" Sportster 1800 for $2500. Gonna hold on this one for awhile....

**Update**
Found a slightly bent rod on the front piston. Most likely she drank some water and you guys all know what happens when water tries to compress in the cylinder... bamm, bent rod and it's almost always the front cylinder.

New rod assy (www.babbittsonline.com $159 BRP retail, $144 discounted and already in transit)

top end going in as we close this post. As soon as I find my "hard to obtain" Loctite 5910 (or Permatex Right Stuff works just as good)... the rest of the engine will be put together.

A little 3M scratch remover, McGuires ultra glaze and the hull looks brand new (actually only needed 1 hull decal due to a small nick). She looks almost as perfect as my new '08 and at a fraction of the investment!

My sons (new) ride is now ready for action!

~Engine rebuild done el-PREEMO :) ...as it should be for only a prior 30hr craft!
~Gel-Coat buffed to brand new condition.
~Seat was cleaned and Aerospace 303 treated/conditioned.
~New driveline rebuild kit #70-112 Installed.
~Driveline shaft & impeller turned & polished
~Intake grate tweaked to airplane-wings leading bow & trailing edge sharpness
~New registration number-graphics
~New SeaDoo OEM graphics here and there
(plus normal maintenance like Seadoo mineral oil in the case and Synthetic Hypoid in the pump...)

WAS IT WORTH IT? ... I think it was, I tripled the value of the craft.
