Did anyone witness the satellite getting shot down? That would be so cool if it hit your house...just kidding.

If that s*#t hit my house I would sell it to the Russians. And make profit to buy the new GTIse 4tec

did they shoot

Last I heard was that they were going to put it on hold due to the weather. But I doubt very seriously that we'd be able to see it.
I still wonder why the government is so determined that it has to be shot down. I think it may house some secrets that they don't want the soviets to get their hands on. The issue with the Benzene fuel is just a coverup...

It was shot down early today. It had to be shot down due to the toxic fuel in the fuel tank...I didn't think it had a fuel tank...

The fuel is Hydrazine, which is a common rocket fuel and extraordinarily hazardous, however, it would not be stable during re-entry and would probably explode. The US was very upset about the Chinese blowing up a satellite a few years ago. I believe it is sabre rattling against the Chinese. Remember, the Chinese have been at war with the US for over 20 years. We just haven't realized it yet. (Economic war)

The Russians only now have enough money to pay for the technology. The Chinese have been buying the technology for years.

:agree:i dont know much about spy satalites but i can contest to the fact that the government is extremely shadey/shiesty... and no i cant say why i think that:)

Fuel....

The satellite was successfully shot down by a rocket launched from a Navy cruiser. Speed was in excess of 6000 mph......wow, that's fast. The government was supposedly worried about the hydrazine propellant causing harm to the general public. I believe they were worried about someone finding out about somthing else.........shhhh, it's secret

i dont see why it matters. if its ours then we should be able to do whatever we want with it. as long as people are around they'll always argue of dumb stuff:ack:

Technology

I think it is mostly about the electronics on board. The Chinese are chomping at the bit to get a hold of new technology. (They are the best copiers/reverse engineers in the world.) They stripped the EP3 clean a few years ago, they also made the US ship it out in pieces as opposed to repair and fly it out. That way they could see how it was built.

There are way to many people here in the US willing to sell the technology to the Chinese if given the chance.

yeah ii think there really sneaky. thereprobably our biggest enemy of all. its just not talked about. they kind of took russias place
