Anyone know how to open strut to replace bracket?

Hey guys. The strut brace on my rear seat broke. I ordered a new one, but I have to release the bottom of the strut to accept the new mount. Does anyone know how to release the bottom of the strut, so I can insert it into the new mount?

I believe there is a small clip on the end that needs to be pulled. Some of them can simply pop off with the help of a screw driver. Post a pic if you can.

usually small clip on the end of strut, use a small screw driver to pry it off.
