anyone on here had any dealings with Short Block Technologies AKA SBT out of Clearwater Fl ?? pros and cons..

Thanks,
Martin

Tons of us have used them. I've only had good experiences. Most people only say positive stuff, but it's like any business. There are always some unhappy customers. What are you looking to buy?

Looking at the possibility of buying a starter from them, after that you never know. New starter from OEM is $285.00 theirs is $99.00. Read numerous threads keeping me away from EBay starters.. Might have mine rebuilt if its poosible. Still got a few troubleshooting things to check out before buying. Stud at the Power side of my starter is loose, and think it might be the culprit of my issues..

We thought you were asking about their engines. Starters I would rebuild the one you have, if you don't feel comfortable doing it yourself a local automotive electric shop can do it.

SBT is a good shop. I order engines from them for my shop.

BUT..........

All aftermarket starters SUCK !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Buy a $25 rebuild kit, and clean/rebuild your OEM.

Thanks guys, that's why I was asking here. Thanks for all the input, glad to know you can depend on their engines should I ever need one.

What Doc said . I have no problem telling someone to buy a SBT engine but their starters are terrible.

SBT is awesome, I buy all kinds of stuff from there. I bought a crank and some other parts for my GSX and had good luck. Bought a starter for my XP toward the end of a season, and it was on its way out when I tried to fire it up the first time the next spring, and locked up totally after about 30 mins of switching batteries trying to figure out what the heck was going on.

I lucked out from the 1 year warranty, and SBT honored it no problem. So far so good with my second one. If the rebuild is as cheap as they say, go with that. I definately would not pay 300 bucks for a new one though, ill take my chances on SBT for that.....

im goin on vacation for a week with my ski,,i needed some gaskets,,sbt had them and overnighted them to me,,cheaply,,i think they r awesome and will continue to buy parts from them,,
