Anyone from Brisbane??

Big Monkey

New Member
Hi,

New to the page, just bought my first ski (2002 GTX 4TEC) and was wondering if anyone from Brisbane and both Sunny and Gold Coast visited here.

Keen to find out some good service tech's and places to buy parts etc.

Cheers

Welcome to the seadoo forum Big Monkey. I'm sure you get a response as I have seen other members here from your neck of the woods so to speak.

G'day Big Monkey,

I live on the Gold Coast, I myself have only just got my first ski. I proabably wont be too much help, but do not hesitate to ask me anything about the area because i just might know, especially around the Gold Coast.

Hey Guys,
I'm moving this to our new Regional Australia section :)

G'day Big Monkey,
Don,t live in Brizzy, i'm in Perth. But i buy my stuff off eBay USA heap's cheaper that getting it local. I would like to support local businesses but they want 5 times as much most of the time. I keep giving them chances to take my money but they keep trying to rip me off so stuff em.

GC rocks

Hey guys, I live on the Gold Coast and am pretty keen to meet up with other avid jetskiiers so you name the place and the time and I'll see you on the water:cheers:

Yeah Yeah. Im a ski tech, and I live near Bribie.
Got a sweet little 1997 spx for a toy. Couple of tweaks, but mainly just my fun ride for the creeks and bay.

Hey guys, i live in brisbane, just picked up a 96 XP for a thousand bux as a project! needs a bit of tlc but once she's going should be good.
Any tips/advice good places to shops for parts or mechanics would be great!

hey,

I live in Redland bay. I jsut picked up a 2000 GSX. MY first ski. I cannot believe how much fun it is. Did my license the other day, instructor nearly sent me flying into the water and I may have got a little close cuddling him after that. But all good.

as I am new the jetski's I am just buying through EBAY. LOve that site. but am considering the premium membership, cause I never got a manual. anyway have fun.

Hi all

I am from the Burpengary area, and have just purchased a 08 GIT SE.
Have not been out yet.. :(
Hoping to get on the water this weekend and get it run in, thinking of heading up to somerset dam for the day so the kids can have some fun as well.

G'Day Whitewulf,
Did you get to Somerset dam?

What was the dam like for jetsking?

I live in Toowoomba and have often thought about going there but have not yet.

No did not make it to somerset, ended up just heading out for a quick ride in morton bay (Redcliffe) on Sat. Weather was starting to turn so only ended up there for about 2 hrs. But now that the rains have hit and the dams are full, would be a good time to go. When the roads open up :)

Hi all

Hi there im at Shailer Park, but dont have a ski Have islandia boat i was thinking about going out to Moogerah for a week end thru summer. as it has water in it now.

we went to Moogerah on Sunday for a couple of hours, was sooooo nice. Starting to get busy out there, water is at about 23C. I would say its worth going anytime from now.

Gold Coast here

Hi Guys
I've been on the Gold Coast many years and anything about the waterways parts etc. I think I could help.
Good ramps for the Seaway and good riding areas are Loders Ck.,Biggera Waters,Hollywell and Runaway Bay.All have good ramps, parking and except Hollywell, are within 100-200 metres of the main Broadwater. You run out of small creeks.Good for warm up etc.All have shops and fuel closeby.
Good to hear there is so many locals.

Hi there Crisso and other members, I'm Scott, new to here and fairly new to jetski's
I am in Kallangur on Brisbane north side.
Only had my jetski a few weeks now, and only had it out once, up to Bribie bridge area.
I got a 2008 RXP 215. I am here to learn from more experienced riders. Would love to meet up with other locals, with a view to a ride sometime. I really want to learn, and get the most out my ski time.
Cheers

Hi there Whitewulf, Im Scott from Brisbane.
Im new to jetskis. Whats it like up at somerset at the moment. (After rain etc) I'd loive to take my RXP 215 up there.
I know a permit is required ect, but I am not sure where to go after getting to the dam itself.
The mrs and I are considering staying at a cabin up there, details of which I found on the Brisbane Jetskis website.
Regards

Hello there and welcome.Mate.So many great places to ride.Big dams, rivers, mangrove channels, bays and also the ocean. The Gold Coast Broadwater is fantastic.Lots of inlets and beaches and the views are fantastic. All within 100k,s of you. This site is really ,really good.If you just read, you learn.Hope you have a great time

Hi Scott, that cabin up at somerset is pretty nice, I was there last sept.
Somerset is very nice to ride on, not sure if there are obstacles in the water though, should be ok. I either ride there or moreton bay during the week when I can. Somerset permits are available from the petrol station there. I think it's a weekly permit from memory. I've seen the patrols there too.
Cheers

Hi there. Awesome. I would really love to go to Sommerset Dam with the ski. Has anyone been there recently. How has all the rain effected conditions there? Is it currently open to jetski's?
Any help appreciated. -scottozy-
