Anybody know what this is???

Is it the one Otis was riding? I might go look at it anyway, we're going to the lake tomorrow and it's only about 5 miles from where we go. I was guessing it was a GTI, but it's the wrong color for a 2006, if running it's worth about $4000.00.

Any tip on what to look for.

I've already EMailed the guy but I haven't heard anything back. Unless it's totally trashed I don't see how I could lose. I will be the first to admit I know crap about 4-teks, but I guess I could learn.

Update, the owner has a hold on the ski, someone is going to look at it this morning, I would imagine he will buy it. If he doesn't I'm next. A day late and a dollar short.

it's a 2004 GTi 4-tec.

It's worth WAY more than $500. If the electronics are good... there's $2500 worth of parts. (including the trailer) BUT... when a 4-tec drops a valve (The normal mode of death) The engine isn't always rebuildable, or at minimum... it's very expensive. ($3k)

But... if it's in good shape, and the electronics are good... a new engine would still have you under $4k, and that's an OK price for an early 4-tec.

*****EDIT****

Actually.... an SBT is only $1800 for the 4-tec NA engine. I guess you would just have to feel it out.

Deer Lou,

That is not the one that Otis had. His had a big ol' beaver head painted on the frunt and it had mirrors that luked like hog ears. The injin blowd up so he put a outbord on the back. That ways he cud use under the seat fur beer and ice.
