Well I pulled the big heavy fiberglass engine cover today, forklifts make such jobs almost trivial. Back the trailer with the boat into the shop building with the forklift, park the forklift behind the boat with the forks a foot or so above the top of the open, run 4 ratchet straps to the forks and safety guard on the forklift, connecting the other ends to the 2 bimini islets, the grab handle and the latch pin, pretension the ratchet straps and remove the bolts fastening the lift struts and the hinges to the boat. The fiberglass engine cover is well balanced at this angle and did not shift at all until I lifted it about 6 more inches with the forklift to clear the grove for the rear deck. Then it was a simple matter of pulling the boat out from under the suspended cover, lid, whatever and back over the the other shop building where the tools are. Sorry no pictures I did not have my phone on me, but I will post some when I go to put it back on. An A frame hoist would probably work out just about as easilly
