Anti rattle kit

Can you tell the difference between anti rattle cone and regular one just by looking at them ? I'm getting ready to order the kit to change the oil and I will order the one with the anti rattle cone if I dont already have it.

Just go ahead and pull the cone off and see if it has the spring in it. It only takes a few minutes, and you’re going to have to take it off to change the oil anyway.

Ok. I was trying to order everything before taking it apart. How does the pop off tester mount to the cone? I know thru the fill hole but what screws into the fill hole to make it airtight?

Go to local hardware store and buy a pipe thread fitting that screws into cone

The anti rattle kits really don’t do anything and aren’t worth buying unless you need a new cone anyway. The rattle is actually just from the inherent design and most of the noise is from the driveshaft splines and idle being too low.

I'd agree, just replace both skis with new style and still have the noise.

It really sounds like backlash from jet pump thrust bearing, u sure it's the splines on shaft? Need more grease?

Grease does help but it's just the way these are so you have to train yourself to not worry about it.

Anti rattle? Didn't notice much sound difference with mine, but did feel a slight (very slight) improvement in low end performance when balancing the machine on the tail.
