Hey all,

cruised the forums a bit and saw that these motors seem to give the owners their fair share of problems. sounds similiar what happened to mine. mine was oil starved at fault of the pump at some stage and when everything let go it made a mess of my bottom end. one of the rods acutally swang so hard it put a crack in the block. im here looking for ur advice on what to do about that crack. some ppl say weld, some say leave it as they beleive theres not much pressure on that area of the motor. I WANT UR OPINION!!

OPTIONS: buy a new bottom casing, risk it and leave it, attempt welding

any help appreciated......

Core.....

While the core is still good, I recommend you consider an engine exchange with SBT. You can get the motor and a guarantee too.

Once you get this engine, I'd def test all your sub components to make sure there was something on the side that caused the damage.

I'd do a pressure test on the compressor, fuel system and make sure the air injectors work properly.

The replacement engine is guaranteed by SBT to be only standard of first bore over. They also guarantee they do a 4 point test to ensure your engines crank and bearings are within tolerance. I've used 13 (one in August) now and have had one return. It was a damaged RAVE valve on a 787. I called and they sent a new one out within the week. I've never had any major problems with the rebuild of their motors........so, check them out.
