Bought a '00 Speedster this year first boat. Was in decent shape but got the bug after the summer was ending to get it into tip top shape. Aesthetics are the first to come. Here is the start and a few progression shots. Any input would be great.

Looks like a good starting point. They are all nasty in the nooks-n-crannies... but that will all clean up with soap and water.

As far as the bilge... use "Super clean" in it. Just spray it in... let it sit, and hose it out. (Warm water if possible) Maybe do it a second time to hit the spots you missed. It will be white and sparkly again. DO NOT let that stuff sit. It will etch metal eventually, and stain plastics. Just give it 5/10 min to break down the oil and mildew.

Work in progress. Cleaned the bilge out. Did a decent clean but weather is changing now. Gonna do another thorough one in the spring. Keep yanking off parts. Pulled the hoods off and buffed and waxed 1 you can really see the difference. Thanks Dr. Honda. You seem to be the Guru on the site. Thanks for the feedback

Just chipping away in the evenings stripping the interior down. Foam is moldy and rotted, plastics are pretty rough, going to have to make new molds for the arm rests and center pad. Been slowly pulling off the hydro turf. Going to replace it. Probably the last thing I plan on doing.

Big changes coming soon to anyone whose interested lol. Just putting these out there for info and progression pics. Started by getting the boat out of the water and tucking it away in the shop for the season got in winterized. After a couple days of looking at it I got the bug. Started with the cleats, then the seats, then vinyl, then everything else. Any questions on how to remove anything let me know. It's all new and fresh to me. Orders are coming in all the goodies.

Hey DR. Honda what's the best way to do a compression test on the boat hot/cold. All plugs out? It's the notorious (v6 merc 240 M2) or should I do a leak down. It's already winterized, fogged and stabilizers in fuel. Can I still or should I Wait till the spring before it goes in the water. When I had it winterized they said there was a little water in my gearbox so they replaced the oil. What does that actually mean?

Heres a shot of a few goodies going in. Working away still. Re-routing the antenna for the cb to the light post port and moving the light post to the clam. Also still tearing out old turf. That is a herculean task in itself. Buffing and waxing the tub. So far so good.

Got back to work on the boat over the Holidays. Started with the shifters, bezels, rerouting the whip to the light post, gonna re route the light post somewhere not exactly sure where, got some more upholstery done. Cluster is coming together. Q

Question
Is there anyway to whiten the gel coat it seems to have yellowed or faded to a full ivory. I've tried wet sanding, I've also tried buffing and waxing with a heavier cut. Still looks off white. Anyway to get it to a nice brilliant white again????

How did you get the vinyl to stick to the foam that tight on the seats?
Hey, I didn't do those seats. I had them custom made by a local guy. He has a shop in Hamilton ON. Does really good work for a reasonable price. His name is Csaba. I can find his info if you'd like.

Thanks but I think he a little to far from me. I got them redone but there not factory looking like your. Had another guy down here tell me it could only be done at the factory I’m guessing he was wrong lol. Your boats looking good tho
