I'd like to take my boat in for an oil change & am wondering what other maintenance I should ask the dealer to do. New plugs maybe?

I do my own winterization so I won't be asking the dealer to do that. Last fall I;
- flushed the system with rv pipe fluid
- removed the batteries
- added something to the gas to preserve it (the name escapes my brain this morning)

Boat is an '04 Sportster 155hp with about 75 hours on it.

I was just reading the shop manual on my skis this morning. I was shocked at all they do reccomend doing for winter storage.

It makes me SERIOUSLY quesion if the dealer actually does all that should be done when they winterize my skis. Besides the normal stuff, you should blow out via the fitting near the nose cone the exhaust with 100 PSI. The hoses need to be removed to allow for drainage in the lower section of the super inter cooler. In some cases, it has to be tilted to remove all the the water. Antifreeze is to be added to both halfs of the charger, rinse the impeller with fresh water, let it dry a bit, then spray it with a lubricant, lube all the k=linkages and cables to prevent rusting and keep them in good and strong condition,,, ect ect ect...

I think I will print the pages out and just do it myself one step at a time....

I will likely let them change the oil as I am not set up at home to deal with it..

The steps I noted above are ALL that I did for the past 3 falls, and each time the boat started perfectly in the spring!

I should add that I remove all water from the engine compartment with a shopvac & towel.

I have the identical boat and plan to do the same things as you with the addition of changing the oil and oil filter and fogging/lubricating.

My dealer says it is recmmended to change the oil and filter at the end of the season for some reason. For the fogging, i will remove the air intake and plugs annd spray inside and re-assemble after.

in the spring I will replace the wear ring and change the engine antifreeze and spark plugs and it should be ready to go.
