Anchoring utopia with an anchor buddy

I like beaches but I don't like dragging my 20 ft utopia (2500 pounds) onto it, nor do I like it when even small wave action threatens to turn it parallel to the beach.

So I bought an anchor buddy (12ft stretching to 50 ft, 4000 pound capacity) for a stern anchor and a sand auger post for a bow beach anchor.

Can anyone suggest the best fastest way to set up and whether it even works.

Seems to me I should:

#1 set stern anchor where I want to end up at anchor, say 30 feet off the beach. The anchor buddy is I think a 12 ft bungi cord that stretches to 50 ft , so i take it if i need say 50 ft of anchor line out, i need chain+rope+achor buddy to be in all 50 ft. where do i attach the line to the rear of my sportsboat? i think i use from the stern cleat this order rope, anchor buddy (think bungi) then chain, then anchor.

#2 then with my bow 30 ft off the sandy beach, I slowly drive to shore stretching the bungi till I reach sand

#3 then I twist in the auger post and tie my bow line. By the way where does bow line attach to my boat. I have side cleats but that seems awkward and also have a ringlet lower on the bow front close to the waterline. I think I go thru the ringlet and tie off at the side cleat.

#4 then I think the idea is to let the bingo pull the seadoo back to the anchor point 30 ft off the beach

Does anyone know if this works? Does the anchor hold against the bungi?. Is there a better technique?

Thanks

Murray

I prefer to keep my 180 off the beach also and as far as where to hook up your stern anchor, I always tie mine up to the rear cleat on the side the wind is coming from. It works for me when the wind and waves come from that direction. In the rare occasion where there really isn't wind. Ill tie off on the side that other boats would generally approach from. I don't think there's any science to it, if you try it one way and it sucks just move the anchorand try again.

Bow out and stern to the beach is the most correct way. This allows incoming waves to hit the now and go around the boat if they hit the stern it can easily sink a boat, jet boats are even more vulnerable.

For the bow make a "Y" rope. Two eyes on the ends and an eye in the middle. Hook to the two side cleats that are near the front. This eliminates having to use the bow eye which can be hard to hook to and to remove the line from.
