anyone have a suggestions

looking at the colapsable grapnel that fits in canister (seadoo)
but I need it to hold good in sand

I love my sand anchors. They are a nylon bag you fill with up to 35 lbs of sand or rocks. At the end of the day, rinse it out, and put the attached rope/bouy in the bag for next time.

Kind of a second on the sand anchors. (I say kind of, because I don't have one!) But, I do have a huge metal one, and I think the sand kind would work alot better. But, I have seen the sand anchors, and they are the best, for this application, as I see it.

One main advantage is you can place it back in teh "Trunk" on the sea doo, and not tear up the fiberglass. You can ride across the lake with it in the trunk, and not tear up the fiberglass.

And, if the rope is long enough, then the angle of pull is reduced alot. Too steep of a rope, in big waves, I think it will move.

So, my suggestion is a longer rope for the big waves, and a nice big sand bag one. Maybe as big as a 5 gallon bucket, made of canvas, or some tough material.

We usually park ours near the swimming area, so the kids can swim, and hold on the ski, and jump off the ski, and play, so the big chunk of iron works for me. But, I'd prefer the sand bag.

I have a seadoo brand sand anchor and it works wonders. Never had a problem with it!

There lots of good anchors, but whats the lake like where you are? Sand bottom but is it windy are there lots of waves? also you do plan to anchor over night or in deep water?

and is this the anchor you talking about http://shopping.msn.com/reviews/coa...ext=itemname:coated-grapnel-pwc-anchor-system i have it as a rear anchor on my boat and it does hold ok but i have to make sure i push it in to the sand fully with my foot so not a good deep water anchor. If you can fit an anchor like this http://www.opentip.com/Sporting-Goods/Seasense-Anchor-Slip-Ring-p-665036.html in your pwc then that would be the best one, this is the same one i have on the front of my boat

I will be anchoring in an inlet type beach -- I will be on the beach but dont want the ski beached because if the tide drops I wont be able to move it off.

So it would be like 2 to 3 feet deep with tide and waves and I will only be 10 feet up the beach having a cold one.

Your second choice wont fit in my rxp but i did just order your first choice as I will be able to help sink it in the sand with my foot

thaks again

yup 1st one i listed will work just fine for you as long as you sink it in the sand fully, One thing to mention is make sure to take the anchor out of the bag at the end of the day and let it dry out:cheers:
