Alternatives to Photobucket ?

I absolutely hate the new photobucket layout, most importantly i HATE that I can't resize an image (which I do often for posting on sites like this one for ease of viewing) without opening up the editor, (used to be the pixlr editor, but it had a hot spot to resize w/o opening the full editor) I just posted about 6 images and it took me 3-4 minutes longer than usual with resizing with the extra steps involved.... its really annoying, and I want some change !

so i'm thinking of abandoning my photobucket account (leave images there so links don't die) and starting fresh with a new site moving forward.

suggestions ?

i use photobucket, i dont resize images and edit, so works for me! but i wouldnt disagree that there is a better site out there, but where is it! ?

I did a beta for the new photobucket and HATED IT and switched back to the classic site. Then I got the message that they were going live with it soon so I switched back. Whatever they did it was much better. Still not like the old but it really is easy once you get the hang of it. I don't resize, I upload a 3 meg pic and just get the link and let the forum where I post it make it work. I can upload a pic and host it in minutes it's that easy. I like that before I upload I can select which album I want the photo to go into, which before I think you had to go into said album THEN upload your file or move it after you upload it. I even think the editor is easier, resize is a snap. When you have the pic you want to resize just click the options radio button and select edit then there is a resize radio button. where its weird is you have to enter the size you want, just make sure the lock is on between the width and height and that will keep it scaled properly. Most sites will give you a range so you could just enter those numbers in the fields. Last night I posted pics of my Black Tip mats on PWC Today for my free BT shirt and that site resizes the pics so you can click on them to view them in full size like you can here, much better option here cause I like to see full size detailed pics. Give it some time you'll get the hang of it. If you have any ? I'll see if I can help, kinda.

thanks xxx, I looked at flickr and two others this morning and honestly, PB is better, maybe its because i'm used to it, i dunno,
but not all sites that I post on resize for me, and sometimes, smaller picks like 600x400 just work better than big huge 800x600's.

maybe i'll just have to do a better job resizing before uploading pics that I know will end up in a thread, or just "deal with it"

i just loved the old PB, where you had that little hot spot on the top of the image to do a quick one click resize, and bam, it was done, "right click, resize, done"
now I have to open the editor, and take the necessary steps, (slide bar, etc) its just like 5 steps instead of two, and pissed me off...

of course I emailed feedback to PB during the beta phase and a couple weeks ago, and again this morning but they mostly likely don't care and won't add a resize hot button, just for a turd like me :)

sadly, i think i'm stuck with PB... Flickr was terrible when I poked around, uploaded like 5 pics, created some sets, then tried to do some basic editing and i was thinking "omg, this is TURRIBLE !"

I've been on PB for +10 years... and I too hate the new site. And... it looks like I only have a few more days until I'm forced to use the new site.

I was a beta tester also, becasue my account was so old... but I tole the dev team that it's a tool to some people... and it needs to remain functional as a tool.

I have a buddy who builds web sites (works for MS)... and we go around all the time... and I tell him the same thing. I don't need a "Screwdriver" to be pretty, or have any other function, other than being a screwdriver. A site like PB to me, is a screwdriver.

The worst one is the new-ish USPS site. I want a simple... enter my info, and print a shipping label, site. But no.... last year the forced the biz accounts to use the 8 screen long, Java enabled... button moving... hunk of crap that they built for someone like my mom. (things to look at) at my shop... I'm on a cell connection... and it SLOW because all the screens have to load.

I really hope the PB will improve. If not... I guess I won't post so many pics. But... unfortunately... there isn't a better free site.

Wow, your just getting the warning to switch Doc? I was into that a few months back. Trust me I loved the old site and hated the new site, once I got the hang of the new site it's a snap. Stick with it. It's like my kitchen, I completely re-did it like a year ago, I still go to my old cabinet position for my pint glass every night and now it's the spice cabinet. Force of habit.

Ugh..yeah the new PB is terrible, I was forced to switch about three weeks ago. It has so many bugs, I can not believe they do not have them straightened out yet. I have had all kinds of issues with it especially the past few days. First it would not let me upload pictures from my phone to my account, it will my wife's account so I started a new account. I started a new account and it will let me upload from my phone, but when I try to download them to my computer, it directs me to an completely random section of the website. When I try and download from my old account it goes right to the download screen and works fine? lol. Also when I try and edit photos, it will not let me save them on either account. It is driving me nuts too, I looked at different image hosting sites today but none of them are as convenient to me if that makes sense. They are set up way different feels like, and I have to go through extra steps to upload pictures from my phone. I was so frustrated last night I sent them a rage filled feedback email, some automated computer will probably be the only thing that reads it LOL

Which option of links do you use to paste in the forum. Everytime I paste the link it doesn't show the picture just the link info, is it because I use the mobile verson of seadoo forum?
