Ok, while I was taking the starter out <which needs to be replaced>. I realized that the motors cooling water outlet that is right above the starter had some white corrosion that was almost completely blocking the hole up. So I took the whole thing off of the motor to find that it was filled with this white flaky stuff. So I cleaned it all out and put it back together. The outlets from the block were ok, so what i'm wondering is should i be worried that there could be more in the block or did i just fix what could of been a problem when i get this thing running?

Im guessing the owner before me, ran it in the gulf and took it out and never flushed it. It has been sitting up for three years without it ever being started during that time.

That sounds like my OLD 720 motor,,, I think it spent some time in the gulf,,, The outlet nipples were heavily corroded,,

I am putting in a replacement motor,,,

That corrosion eats everything,, the head bolts were even stuck..

You probably should just try running it,, and keep flushing it after use,, Maybe it is not too bad inside,

take a close look at the pipe,,, salt water sets in it after use as well,

Mine was welded ( again ) putting a "factory pipe" on the new motor
