Hi everyone, i had a great weekend on the water and after 11 yrs with no problems my 98 xpl gauges just stopped working, the boat still runs like a jackrabbit but no more gauges or beeps.is there any way to hardwire the gauges or is my mpem shot.i checked my ground on the front of the mag cover and it is still solid.im confused please help me.

Check the fuses?
I was hoping it would have been an easy fix.
Rest of the electronics are working fine, just no gauges and beeps?
I hope it isn't MPEM, but it could be.

wouldnt think its a mpem issue, since the ski still runs like a jackrabbit. You sure you "saut" out all fuse holders, sounds like a 3amp fuse?
Purple wire?
Your gage cluster works in cascade with the power wire to your VTS. Start at the VTS and check the purple/grey wire for power using a multi meter. Then, from the VTS, the power cascades to the Tach, the Speedo and lastly, the fuel/oil gage by the black and purple wires (purple being the hot wire).
Start at the VTS, working your way down. Oh, and the fuse to the VTS too...:cheers:
