Alignment tool Question

I am trying to align my 800 engine in my GSX and am having some issues. None of the alignment attachments fit well into the PTO. There is one but it scares me to use it because there is a lot of slop. I bought the tool from SBT, should I call them and ask if they have one that fits a lot better?

Adapter plate...?

There are two adapter plates that come with the alignment tool. Are you sure you are using the correct plate? Also, are you using the tool properly?

Take an inventory of what you have, then see if something is missing.:cheers:

Here is the plate bolted up to the hual. It fits fine.

other Plate that doesn't fit.

The adaptors I'm talking about that don't fit into the pto.

And lastly the end of the alignment shaft and the drive shaft.

Am I missing one of the adaptors that go into the pto on the motor or do I use the one with all the slop?

Well just got off the phone with SBT. They told me that it will be fine if there is slop in the adapter that fits into the pto. Guess I will try that and see where I end up.

With no adapters mine fit just fine. Have You tried that yet?

I agree. You have to use it without any adapters.
