I have a 97 challenger single 787. I ran the bearing hull seal for years but got nervous about it locking up and sinking the boat.
I went back to a new carbon seal and bellows. I remembered when I removed the original the inside of the carbon ring was worn egg shaped.
Has anyone seen the hullthru fitting out of alignment from the factory? I have the original shims for the engine mounts in. Can I have the driveshaft alignment off a bit to center the carbon ring or must I accept rapid wear on the carbon seal. I know-an alignment tool will answer this question but I do not have time this week to procure one.
