Air Chair

The Airchair and it's competitor the Sky Ski are very cool ...uh, skis?

When starting out, it behaves A LOT like a slalom ski. So a lot of power is needed to get things started.

Once you get the ski on the surface of the water, the effort is significantly less on the ski, but a little rough on the rider. Rider is bent over and bouncing on the water surface like a very sloppy double ski.

Ah, but when you get the ski off the water and the hydrofoil starts doing all the work, the boat and rider exert VERY little effort.

I had tried it once and could not get enough of the Sky Ski. I goofed around with it for about 40 minutes and wasn't tired. The owner who helped me learn is quite skilled and can do those huge flips and jumps. It is a great alternative to riders that blew out their knees wakeboarding or doing slalom.

It is just crazy expensive......and also it is quite a pain to haul around. The rig is very long and has a double knife blade the size of a pick axe. So it does require some care when handling it out of water.
