i am going to replace the wear rings and impellars. i understand oem wear rings are best, are there aftermarket impellars to gain performance or are they not worth it?

Aftermarket impellers are probably worth the investment if you need to replace them anyway, you'll get a couple more mph top end. If your stock impellers are O.K. I would just keep them. You're looking at $500.00 plus investment for 2 mph. You didn't say what year of model boat you have but since you have two motors I wouldn't think you would need more hole shot.

you`ll probably find Skat and Solas impellers. You`ll need to get the correct pitch.
The previous owner reported a gain in top end with skat`s, while I have slightly less top end but better bottom end with the Solas impellers.
Not any one`s brands have the same pitch, even tho the pitch numbers would be the same. The root angles and overall design, swirl, over lapped blades separate the brands... you`ll need to read up on what you would like and go from there.
The OEM impellers are a very good compromise of both bottom end and top end.
BUT, the aftermarket impellers are far more efficient...
Since you are in AZ, try giving IMPRO`s a call, they are in CA, and see what Dave has to say... good luck...

i ended calling Impros too. they recommended a skat trak swirl for my 97 challenger, though I must say did ask a lot of questions about whaI was looking for before recommending. Got a grEat price and had it in 3 days to Canada. I replaced the wear ring with an oem one and put the new impeller on, was super happy, big improvement out of the whole.

Call Dave for sure!
