This has been since I bought the boat, when I always start the second engine it gives away one long beeep. How can I know what the problem is?

I would be curious to see the replies on this too, as mine will often do that same single, loud, long annoying beep (not always though)

got the same problem now and then, it will happen the first time I start the engine and then will be fine for the rest of the day. The problem is the oil sensor is beginning to fail. (Make sure your oil level is between the 2 lines) If your oil level is fine then it is the sensor. I have a new one on order, $30 and is really easy to change, don't even need to drop the oil.

Just checked the oil levels, the Starboard engine is fine, the Port one has the oil level a little above the top indent. I don't recall which one caused the beep... Any thoughts??? How does a novice get a little oil out without making a big mess???

you have to use a pump to get the oil out. You really don't want to be above the upper indent since it can cause engine damage and really affect performance. You may also want to replace the plugs on that engine, they may be soaked with oil. On my boat it is the second engine that causes the beep, it only happens when I throttle up from idle and my boat begins to get up on plane, I also notice that my oil light starts to flicker and then comes on once the single beep comes on. My suggestion is replace both oil sensors, they are pretty cheap...from what I have read they are common to fail so better to be safe then sorry!!

You are right, its always when the engine is cold and at the first start! If you get that sensor changed and it fix the problem, let us know.

Is there guidance / instructions / photos available on how to find and replace the sensors??? I'm clueless in that regard....

Mine will beep at first start-up only, probably on the engine with the high oil level (now that I think about it). Never after that point. I think I will invest in a little oil suction do-hickey first to get it down to normal levels, but any advice on specific steps to find and replace the sensors would be appreciated!

Thanks!

The oil sensor is located right beside the oil filter housing. You will see it screwed into the side of the engine with 2 wires coming from it. If you look under the OEM parts, look under engine casing and it's #31

Thanks for the info about the sensor. Am I wrong in thinking that maybe my sensor is actually acting properly & letting me know that I have too much oil in that engine???
