advice please

Hey everyone,im going to look at a 98 gsx limited tommorrow and the guy told me today is the first time he has had the ski out in awhile,he said the gas tank was tottaly drained for storage so he said he put six gallons of gas in it to take it out for a ride.Well he said the gas gauge wasnt reading and that it kept beeping at him while he was riding it,what should i check when i look at it, he also said that it worked before he stored it ,thanks!
