I am seriously considering buying a 04 islandia with the 250hp optimax m2.
Any tips or pitfalls from anyone would help.
Thanks,
jp

Nice boat......

It's a nice boat, just remember, it has a Mercury engine in it, so don't take it to Seadoo for anything engine related.

The only problem is that some Mercury dealers will tell you that it's a Seadoo, they don't do jet boats, .......but it has the Mercury Optimax engine in it.

There have been a few members find it hard to get support on a hybrid boat. What I mean by that is, it's a Seadoo-Mercury.

You may want to call around your local area, to the Mercury boat shops and first ask them if they work on the Seadoos, Mercury Optimax engine and jet pump. That may give you a better idea. Even here, if you go to the places most of us do for our Rotax parts, you'll not find many for the Optimax.

Just a thought you might want to chew on for a bit..............
