Advice on a 97 sportster.(first boat)

Hey guys looking to purchase my first seadoo boat, but need some advice. Here are the issues.

The upholstery is a mess, but can easily repair myself.
The motor is out of the boat due to a bad magneto the previous owner (my neighbor) stated. He said he had the flywheel off and has a new magneto for it.
The whole pump and impeller is off also.
What should I look for before purchasing and what should a reasonable price be? Is it easy to reapply a flywheel and magneto?

I am familiar with the carbs and pump assembly due to having a few 2 stroke seadoo's. Anything else I should look for?

With an non running, torn apart boat that needs upholstery I wouldn't pay more than $500. You have no clue what is actually wrong and are going to have a minimum $1,500 into it if it's something major.
