I'd love to put one at the back, right above the rub rail on the deck.

Should be room to put the backing plate and nuts on if you put something to lay on across the engine bay and are flexible.

I was going to add one to each side just behind the vent but idk if the structural strength is there because of the hole cut for the vents lol

Now I'm on a quest to find the identical cleats in the aftermarket. I've been tired of having the rear of the boat drift away from the dock for quite a while now. I'm just not inclined to pay $154.99 each for the fix.

i just noticed that myself. that's expensive for one little cleat lol. someone has to make something close to the same for cheaper id imagine..

I've been tired of having the rear of the boat drift away from the dock for quite a while now.

I've never had any issues with the rear of the boat getting away from me when tied off to the rear cleat of our 210SE. My 4' 11" wife has no problems roping the boat off the trailer and onto the dock with the lines connected to just the front and rear cleats. Not sure why you're having issues.

When the cleats on the dock are farther apart than the boat, you don't have a stern cleat to tie to. You only have a quarter breast cleat, which would normally be used for a forward spring line. It's manageable, but not ideal. If you are only docking for 30 seconds to get on off the boat, it's no problem. However, when you're docking on the ICW to go to dinner or walk around an outside mall (like Barefoot Landing) for several hours, any line stretch lets the boat move away from the dock when re-boarding and move too much when somebody blows through the no wake zone.

I agree cleat locations are not ideal... One towards the rear would be great. We are fortunate enough to have dock cleates loacted just so at the marina we stop at allowing us to tie up reasonably well. I do un the frustration though!
