Accidently mixed SYNTHETIC 2 STROKE OIL IN MY `98 gti????

I just bought a 99 GTX and a 98 GTI and didn`t realize that the GTI is suppose to use a Mineral base oil 2 stroke oil. The tanks light was on and I dumped in a gal. of XPS synthetic oil before I remembered, will this screw up anything mixing about a quart of mineral oil with a gal of Synthetic? And can I just go ahead and run Synthetic oil in the GTI??

Shouldn't cause any issues if both were xps oil. if the other stuff was unknown, then you might have just wasted a gal of xps syn.

The newer XPS oils can be mixed... and the synth oil is better for the engine. Personally... I wouldn't worry. BUT... if you really want to assure that they will mix... buy a "Black" bottle of XPS, and pour in what you can. It's the synth blend... and it's compatible with both oils.


This is assuming that the old oil was the XPS mineral oil. If it wasnt'... I'd drain it all.
