Newbie on the forum. This is my second post, looking for advice.
What is an acceptable engine compression range for 2005 Mercury Optimax 250 powering a 2005 Seadoo Utopia before needing engine work? I have a small deposit on a 2005 Utopia SE boat and would pull the trigger if everything checks out. Will know the actual engine hours once its hooked up next week, but the dealer is guessing between 200 - 300 hours. Second question: I read somewhere that when the engine hours reaches 300+hours, the engine needs major service. How can I tell if this is done besides a dealer tells me what they think I want to hear? Any and all feedback appreciated.
