acceleration problem at 3/4 throttle.

I AM HAVING A PROBLEM WITH MY 97 SPX. The problem is that it starts find and runs fine up until about ¾ throttle .Once there it starts to act like it is running out of gas it will accelerate up then slow down like it lost power then it will do it Again. Please help

fuel issue

Sounds like a fuel issue... check your fuel hoses for blockages .. could be time to change your carb filters too. A dirty filter/s would cause this problem as well.

how do you clean carbs?

I have blown air through all of the fuel lines and they all seem to be clear .I have removed the carbs and am woundering how to clean them .What do I clean it with, and Can i just submerge the whole carb. Also is there just one filter in the two carb system or two.

Is there any thing else that could cause this problem?
