Ok.. So I went to take the boat out today.. Launcher her off the ramp and took her slowly out in the water waiting for my brother to get back from parking the truck.. Once I saw him I put the boat in "F" and gave it gas.. All of a sudden I was flying in reverse.. I put it back in neutral.. And then forward again, gave gas and still going in reverse.. Took the boat out of the water and on the trailer.. thankfully there was a fellow boater there and gave it a look over since I have no clue about this stuff.. While look it over it looks like the piece that is attached to the cable that lifts/drops the bucket came off.. Saw some wear marks but nothing serious.. Played with it for a little and got it back into place.. But curious if there is a bolt missing or what from the bottom hole or if nothing is supposed to be there.. I have no idea what it looked like before.. I have a 2010 Speedster 150... So if anyone has a picture that would be great or if they know.. I know the dealership is probably gonna give me the run around as usual with getting the boat in.. Last time I needed service they were backed up fro 2 weeks.. So if its a simple bolt/nut ill just grab it myself.. Just want to make sure i get it done right.. Dont want to be stranded in the middle of nowhere.. Thanks.. Here are some pics of what im talking about..

try looking it up on the parts list....or go to a dealer and ask to see pics or maybe they have one in for service you can look at.
I'm sure someone out there has a photo to post for you soon.

Thanks for the reply.. I always get a little jumpy on the forums.. I guess its my way of venting lol.. Did a search and found a diagram.. Looks like there is a bolt and some other pieces that must have gotten lost when the bolt broke off.. On the parts site I went on it looks like 100 for all the pieces.. too much to just do on my own.. I guess in for warrranty she goes.. At least I hope its covered under the BEST 3 year extended warranty..

Back to being pissed.. Called the dealer to schedule a day to bring the boat in.. First he said that it would be 3 weeks to get in.. Then tells me that the bolt and stuff I need won't be covered under warranty because they are considered wear and tear items.. Wear and tear.. on an 11 hour 2010 boat??!?!?!?!.. Guess im down 100 bucks for a dam bolt lol..

I would call Sea Doo themselves and ask if it's covered. 1 yr old boat w/ a 3 yr warranty.....sound fishy to me. If they say it's covered then go back to dealer and tell him so. He could be just guessing that it's not covered to get money from you at the end of repair instead of filing and waiting for $ from SeaDoo. If not covered then order the parts and install yourself to save downtime.

That was actually his recommendation.. Order the parts myself and install myself.. he said cables, bolts, nuts, screws, etc are considered normal wear and tear parts and are not covered under the warranty..

I didn't think bolt should wear out in a year. Try calling and see what they say....Good Luck

My .02. I did not like how that part rusted right away and thought it looked bad. I took it apart and powder coated it black. Looks much better with no rust now.

I checked out the parts drawing, it's just a basic stainless steel bolt with two bushing sleeves on each end and a nut. Just take the boat down to a Fastenal (supplier for bolts ect) and have the guy size the hole and that's all!! Usually the OEM drawings will give the bolt size but not for this one. They should also have the bushings but if not I wouldn't worry about them....just get a stainless steel bolt with a long shoulder on it and a nylon lock nut and you'll be back on the water in no time!!

Advice,

Find another dealer! Do you really want these jerks working on your boat. Parts falling off aren't normal wear and tear on a new boat still under warranty.

I have an 06 imported from the States to Oz. These parts were also missing from my boat. Extremly easy to fit and adjust. Just get SS bolt and nut as said earlier and find a new dealer. No warranty after 10hrs is a load of rubbish as is a 3 week wait. They must either be undermaned or lazy for a wait that long!!!!!
