Hey everyone,
I just got a 96 xp about a month ago and I've taken it out a few times and replaced the wear ring and cleaned the carbs. The problem that i'm having mainly is porpoising, and \ when i ride with my girlfriend, and try to do 180's, it tends to flip over, like the rear end plants, and the front end comes over like on top of me. i was wondering if a different intake grate, sponsoons, or extended trim tabs would help with these, and which would be the best investment. and our weight is me 150 and my girlfriend 110.
any help would be appreciated.

It just takes some practice. I do them with my girlfriend on the back on an 01 XP which is real tippy. I'm 215lbs she's 110 lbs. When I do them, I go into the corner at whatever speed (generally not too fast or it will just roll over) and turn it hard, and punch it to get the back end to slide out and the front basically stays put. Try them alone to get use to them too, that will help with stability.
