Hey guys I'm in the process of tearing apart and rebuilding a few things on my gtx.
A few things I noticed and wanted to ask for some opinions because I'm fairly new to working on jetskis.
After pulling out my jetpump to change out the bearings and wear ring, I noticed that one of the flanges where the bolts go thru to secure it to the hull is slightly cracked. It's not cracked all the way through but I was wondering if it would be okay to maybe throw some sealer in it and remount it to avoid having to buy a whole new pump housing. Here's a few pics
I know ideally the best solution would be to replace the housing, but sense I'm replacing a bunch of other things I would like to keep the cost down and get back on the water as soon as possible.
Another thing I noticed while I was in there was that the top of the flywheel had a little wear on it. I'm not sure what it would of been rubbing on but is this going to cause any problems?
I also noticed that on the back part of the exhaust canister I believe, where the rave valve is, it looked like there was something leaking out from where it connects to the tank. Is this something to be concerned about or is this normal or maybe just caused from stuff splashing around in there. I tried to show it best in this picture
And lastly, while taking apart my jetpump and impeller I noticed that the bearing were shot and it much of taken in some water internally because the pump oil was a milky color. My question is, the long bolt that screws through the housing and into the impeller, does this need to be replaced? It is discolored a little bit seems to be pretty smooth and doesn't have any digs or scratches on it. I'm obv going to replace all the bearings, but does this look like I should replace this too or should I be good.
Sorry for the multiple questions in one post but I didn't want to spam out the thread. Like I said before I am new to working on Jetski's and just wanted some outside opinions from people who have more experience than me. Thanks guys!
