Its #19 in the parts diagram linked below. It was broken off by a ski rope getting wrapped around it. Prop and shaft were fine, the plastic cover broke off. Just don't know if it had a seal or was just there for keep corrosion off the shaft. Looking to take it out this weekend and don't want to foul anything up. Any advice would help.

Shaft cover

Been there, done that with my 2004 Sportster. The rope destroyed the blue plastic sleeve. According to my local dealer they basically said there is no immediate need to replace it, nor will the boat perform differently without it, unless it bent the drive shaft. You just have to put it in the water, start slow and 'feel' for any vibrations and listen for any abnormal noises from the propulsion system that were not present before the incident. (You may even be able to do this out of the water, with a cooling hose attached, but refer to your manual for that). If that's good, work up the speed to eventually full throttle and see if you reach same speeds as before, still without any major vibrations or without any cavitation. I was also concerned about any seals, but if you dont see any additional water in the bilge, you should be fine. It's definetely not there to prevent corrosion of the shaft as it originally had openings for water to flow through it. It may have been put there to prevent small weeds from wrapping around the shaft. Good luck hope all goes well and happy riding.
