99 Seadoo GTX LTD drive shaft issues

Hello all I am hoping someone can help me.
I have a 99 Seadoo GTX LTD and was unaware of the grease fitting in hub under plastic cover.
I noticed it was slipping/whining and did not make it back to shore so had to paddle.
got it home and started checking found drive shaft spinning in hub.
I have a new hub my problem is the drive shaft.
on mine it measures 20 an 15/16 part# 272000160
I ordered a new one and it is shorter 20 an 11/16 with same part number.
I am confused could someone shed some light on this please.

It sounds like it was not packaged correctly.

So when you got the pump off that spun free?

You ordered a new oem shaft? Or aftermarket?
