Ok I got my SeaDoo about 4 weeks ago and since then it has been nothing but problems. Let me explain what has happened so far to get to where it is now.

We bought it from some friends of ours. They had crashed it and rebuilt it. They put in a brand new engine. We tested it out and it ran perfect, with the exception of the speedometer, so we bought it.

The first day my sister had it out it was running fine and then it suddenly wouldn't go full speed and was making loud noises.

We took it in to the shop and they found that one of the water lines had been disconnected and was spraying the inside. They fixed that but it still was being slow. We took it to the guy who put the engine in. He found a tube that was all melted and he replaced that. That fixed the speed problem, and it seemed to be running fine.

We had it out for 2 full days with no problems. The next day my sister goes to take it out and when she tried to start it, it turned over but then cut off completely. The gauges weren't working even.

We took it to the shop and they think it's the MPEM. It keeps blowing fuses (the one that has a 5 on it). They said it would be $900 to fix it. We took it out the next day and it worked fine. When we shut it off and tried to turn it back on, it kept blowing the fuses that we kept replacing. Why did it start once?

Is there a way to fix this problem without purchasing a whole new MPEM? Could it just be some sort of connection?

The gauges aren't working now either.

HELP!!!!

It sounds like you have a short in the MPEM,(Multi Purpose Electronic Module).
There is a member on the forum that can repair the MPEM 5 amp fuse problem. His name is Mike, and his screen name is " all things custom" give him a shout and see if he can help you. I know other members have received his service for a fraction of the cost, and you won't have to replace the mpem. Let us know how it works out.

i had already messaged him via his post on ebay and he said he could not repair the model i have. I don't know what model that is exactly, just that it's year is 99.

uh...from you avitar it says you own a 99 GTX limited. He is the only one I know that will tamper with the MPEM.
