About to drop my Challenger in the water for the first time after the tons of work I've put in this year. Just wanted to start the engines real quick before I trailered it in. Tried to start my port side engine cold, engine turned fine. After about 20 seconds of trying to start, it lost it's crank and sounded like the battery ran out of juice. Pulled the lanyard out and put it back in and only heard one low volume beep. Pulled it out again and then heard 2 low volume beeps. Sometimes, no beeps. No juice at all. By the way, this is a brand new battery. I've had it for 2 weeks and it's been strong and perfectly fine. The reason I bought a brand new battery was because this has happened before. About an hour later I decide to try the boat again. Put the lanyard in, 2 loud beeps and the engines started right away. How and why is this happening? Why would an hour make a difference? And this could be pretty bad if I was on the water.

Thanks in advance
