You will need to remove the airbox to gain access to the carbs. From there it just unhooks from be throttle lever on the carb. Next take the handlebar cover off which will give you access to the throttle thumb lever. It just unhooks there as well. Then you just pull the cable out. A little time consuming but easy.

also GS takes on water from jet transom bracket
any info would be appreciated on how to reseal
I figure the jet pump has to be removed to remove the bracket
any ideas?
