I have had my 99 Challenger 1800 now for about a month. Ran it a few times but it needed the carbs rebuilt. I pulled the carbs off and want to change the oil injector lines since it looks like the factory lines are still there. I saw on a bunch of threads that said I should use tygon lines. I have not been able to find them anywhere in my area (west palm beach). I have found a hobby shop that has "dubro" silicone nitro line that has the same diameter. Has anyone had any experience using these lines?

Do NOT use silicone lines, oil will deteriorate them. Try Ace Hardware or a different hobby shop, I think they are common on gas (non-nitro) burning hobby engines.

You should use 3/32" tygon gas line. I get it at ACE hardware, anyplace that repairs weed eaters, chain saws should have it. If you can't find it you can order it from McMaster-Carr, or Amazon.

I have 99 Challenger too, all factory lines.

1) How can you tell if you need replace oil lines? I've only read about replacing fuel lines due to ethanol. THANKS

When I pulled the carbs off I saw that the oil injection lines were painted to match the motor which pretty much means that the lines original. Since the boat is already 13 years old i figured it was a small investment for a little piece of mind. I would hate for the reason I blew a motor to be a silly little piece of hose. Also it since the carbs are off for the rebuild it makes access to the lines much easier.
