hello all, I was wondering if anyone can tell me how to do an oil change on my jet boat and any recommendation on what oil to use and how many litters should I put in. I'm a little light on the pocket so im trying to do this myself.thanks for your help.

Dr.Honda thank you for your quick response. I'm a nubee and still in the process of learning about my boat. I apologize if some of my questions are a little off. My oil light went on the other day, I figured this mean just add oil Base on your response. So unlike a car there is no oil or filter to change regularly? any suggestion on what oil should I use, that is comparable but cheaper than the manufacturers recommendation? thank you for your help.

Do you know what brand of injector oil the previous owner was using? Did they happen to leave you a partial bottle? if so continue using that brand of oil in a PWC TC3 rated oil. If not then you'll need to drain the oil reservoir, replace the oil filters, refill with the brand of oil you choose in a PWC TC3 synthetic oil of your choice...

If you have to change oil brands and do the draining, bleeding etc there's several threads on the forum to guide you through the process..
Here's a couple of links to help you out..

Hope this helps,

Martin, thank you for the reply. Unfortunately, the previous owner did not tell me the type of oil he used and his # is no where to be found. So I will drain the tank and replace the filter and use the manufacturers brand. Thank you for your help and the links.

DO NOT USE TC-W3 OIL IN ANY SEADOO!!! Use API-TC rated oil only. In your case I would recommend API-TC rated full synthetic, I use BRP XPSII.

make sure you bleed the system after changing the inline oil filter.

what color is the oil in the tank now?

as Lou suggested, run only an API-TC rated oil.

XPS II
Amsoil
Mystic

just to name a few.

lou and pale rider thank you for your input. correct me if I am wrong I will:
1. drain the oil reservoir
2. change oil lines and filter
3. Bleed the lines
4. add 1 oz/gal of oil in the gas tank?
5. then fired up the engine?

Im planning to use brp xps2 for the oil and for the lines and filters are they available in west marines, autozone, pep boys ?
