Finally got my Challenger in the water. Engines started fine. I hit bottom very softly and slowly at idle speed. The Rpms of the engines went bonkers. Revved really high until I shut them off and moved to deeper water. What would cause the engines to increase when hitting bottom? I checked no damage was done. Engines seemed fine afterwards.

You plugged up the intake, and they didn't have any water... so the engines unloaded.

Since that happened... make sure you flush the engines VERY WELL !!!! Basically... you were pushing sand into the cooling system, and that's how you plug the engines. (then they overheat)
