Your mpem is part number 278001342 and seems that it is limited to your model only. I did a cross check as always, and I came up with no other hits, as I have before in the past. Some MPEM's are used in many different skis and boats......but it doesn't seem that yours is............
The price I saw for it was.....are you sitting down....$702.
Are you only blowing the 5 amp fuse?

Sorry it took me so long to post back. Here is what is happening with my ski.

I was riding it and all of a sudden it started to misfire and loose power and then it just shut off. I brought it back to my house and tried to start it and it would not work it would just beep. I forget how many times b/c this happened at the end of the season. I was able to take a screw driver and jump the box and it acted like it reset the box and the ski would start but did not revup almost like it was hitting a revlimiter and then die. I was not blowing any fuses. I bought a new dss piece and installed that and that did not help.

I ended up bringing it back to PA and took it to a seadoo guy to have him look at it. He had it all winter and called me the other day to say I need a new computer.

The price of the computer is so high I am not sure it is worth it to dump into the ski. I love the ski and by far it is the best handling ski I have ever ridden so I don't want to get rid of it.

Shop.....

You go get that ski and lets see what we, here in the forum can help you do. There are ways of trouble shooting to narrow down your problem. If by chance the mpem test good....you could spend $800 bucks for nothing. Plus, if he does it, way over that. You can do this yourself.
If it is the mpem, you can find one from seadoosource or any other of the many online distributers. If you choose not to, then you can put it online on e-bay as a part out. You'd be surprised at how much you can get for the pump, a working motor, gages, speedo's handlebars....and the like. Don't just toss it aside. That thing is still valuable if you decide to fix it or not.!...

Yeah I am going to get it back. I am pretty handy when it comes to fixing things. But did not know how to trouble shoot this problem. What would recommend for me to first test or check out?

First....

Well, the first thing you'll want to do is a compression test. Then, we need to see if we can get those beeps. The DESS system is not only to deter theft, it's there to help us figure out what's wrong with it. It will tell you alot. There is also an advanced mode to use on it, that may also help. When you get to it, try the lanyard with a good charge on the battery and let us know if it beeps......

Sorry it took me so long to post back I have been super busy with work and getting the race car done.

The shop where I took it actually fixed the problem. It turned out not to be the computer. It was a series of wires and bad grounds that I guess over the years had gone bad. The shop spent a ton of hours on the ski trouble shooting it and only charged me 5 hours of work so I was very happy with that. I put the ski in last weekend in avalon and took it for a short ride in the rain. Everything seemed to work great.

If anyone is in the avalon SIC NJ area this summer and want to go trail riding let me know.
