98 sportster steering wheel removal

I need to remove the steering wheel on my 1998 sportster 1800 to get the radio out. Any ideas? My puller wouldn't fit in there and I tried holding back on the wheel while tapping the stem to no avail

The automotive trick is to use an air hammer then use your thighs and calve muscles to force it outwards. The air hammer will give you magnitudes more impacts than manually hammering.
