I have a 1998 Sportster 1800, just purhcased this season, I have been out on it quite a bit, probably 20 hours and ever since the first running I noticed the engines do not sound the same or run the same RPM's at low speeds, I'm always playing with the throttles to get the RPM's lined up on both engines. I'm wondering if this is something that is typical for multi engine setups or if something is wrong or could be imporoved.
At idle the starboard engine is much quieter and sounds leaner I guess for a lack of better words, the port engine is much louder and not as lean sounding. At full throttle they seem to match up fine, actually once I get to about 5K RPM they sound about the same. Of course at full throttle they are so loud it would be hard to tell a difference between them.
I'm not sure where to start looking, any help, advice on twin engine running would be greatly appreciated.
