Hey everybody,

So I went to put my Speedster in the river and the port engine has no spark. Starboard is fine. I ohmed out the stator wires, yellow are 1k and black to red show open. Do I have to pull the motor to swap the stator? I notice it is in an uncomfortable spot.

It'll be a good chance to tidy up the engine bay and fix the small oil seeping from the oil lines.

With the engine out to replace the stator is there any specific maintenance I should do? This motor has a petcock on the rotary oil line but only seeps a little and ran fine otherwise.

hold on,,,,before you go heavy into this,,,test fir ohms on the 3 wires,,,test for short from the yellow wires to ground,,,then test for AC volts from the 3 yellow wires,,,if the tests pass,,,then it will be the rectifier,

Hmm, I think you're referencing a 787. I've got the SK with the 717 and a 4 wire stator two yellow one red and one black.

It's a good troubleshooting idea though. It won't take long to swap the rectifiers and see if I get a spark.
