98 Speedster Horn doesn't work consistently

My horn works intermittently. I took the horn out today and attached a wire to the horn and my car battery and the horn definitely works. I noticed when I put the horn back in the boat that it works when I'm holding onto the metal part of the horn. I assume it's a grounding issue. Do you think I need a new switch? Or do I just need to check the ground wire to make sure it's fine on both ends and that it's not frayed somewhere in the middle?

I'd check the ground, and the wires. Normally when the switches go bad... they bind.

Bought a new switch from the local marina. Not a Carling switch as the original, but works fine!
