Ijust realized that after sitting a few months, my oil injection line that comes from the bottom of the oil tank, thru the oil filter thru more hose to a small brass elbow... is just laying loose on the hull which has drained my tank. I gotta say, I can't figure out where it goes into the pump. Mainly from a lack of clear view. Any advice? Or a link that shows a picture. I cant imagine Im looking for another hose to connect to this elbow since the loose end is not barbed for a hose. Its smooth and only 1/8" long.

Mirror........

It's really hard to see this without the engine out but when I'm checking my pump for being in sync with my carbs, I use a mirror and flashlight. You can hold it down close to the bottom of the hull and angle it upward to see it.

I think you get the picture.

I believe there is one barb on the nippel to hold the hose on. You may be finding that it's broken off or someone before you jury rigged it and it's come apart.

I hope you haven't run it like this. If you can't put it back together because it's broken, you can order a new one through the Seadoowarehouse by clicking the link above on the right, or you can block off the pump and go premix..............

oil line

Thanks fo the mirror advise, I'll try it. The whole story is in 1995 My brother had a seadoo mechanic install a new SBT 951 silver in his blown ski. He told him to just premix. After that I bought it in 97 and the oil tank has never needed filled as I also premixed. I just left some in there to keep idiot light off. So after sitting all summer without use I just notice the light came on as I started it to winterize, so I looked and the hull to find all my oil. The mechanic (250 miles away) cant remember what he did. I hoped he would tell me that he rigged that end with a plug and it just came off.
So thats where I am. If he didnt plug it. Can I just plug it or is there something on the engine side that needs to stay in the oil bath ? Sorry for the lengthy story. My wife says I cant tell a short one!

Oil system.....

You can pull the oil pump, it's held on by two allen head bolts, and remove the shaft in the oil pump. It's a teflon shaft. Then, put it back on. Plug the oil line going to the pump from the oil tank.........

But, you must keep oil in the tank for your rotary valve. It's the second line you see coming from the oil tank to the side of the engine. There is another line coming from the engine, going to the top of the tank, that's the vent from the rotary bath. This system must not be run dry...........
